WSHL Veteran to play for Steamboat

Jensen Baehr played for the Jr. Eagles in Lakewood, and AA for the Arapahoe Warriors. He also played for Columbine High School before heading to Canada to play for the AAA Pilot Mound in Manitoba. He has also spent time with the Tahoe Icemen in the WSHL and the New York Applecore in the Eastern Hockey League.
Wrangler Assistant Coach Kenny Simmons says, “Jensen is a veteran to the WSHL so he can help us as a leader. He is a great forechecking forward who can disrupt the opponents’ breakout regularly. He’ll help create turnovers on a nightly basis.”
Jensen visited Steamboat Springs in the summer, when he was growing up. He is looking forward to being able to live in such a beautiful place, and play hockey. And he is looking forward to playing for Wrangler Head Coach Ryan Dingle. “Anytime you have a chance to play for a coach who has accomplished as much as Coach Dingle, you have to go for it because there’s so much you can learn.”
The Steamboat Wranglers are the newest team to join the Western States Hockey League. The WSHL is an Amateur Athletic Union, Tier II Junior “A” hockey league that has been in continuous existence since 1994. The WSHL is the second largest junior hockey league in North America, with 30 teams in 14 states. The Wranglers are part of the Mountain Division of the WSHL.
