USHL Player of the Week: Sean Farrell

This week’s USHL Player of the Week is Sean Farrell.
There were not many five-point performances achieved this week. Tri-City Stars’ Carter Mazur got there with a goal and four assists. His teammate, Matthew Knies lobbied with two goals and three assists. But it was Chicago Steel’s Sean Farrell that captured our “Of The Week” honor by strength of performance.
Sean’ Steel played the Dubuque Fighting Saints in a home and home series Friday and Saturday nights. On Friday, Farrell assisted on Adam Fantilli’s goal in the first. He added a goal of his own in the third. It would not be enough as Chicago would fall, 5-4 in the Fox Valley dog-fight.
Swapping rinks, The Steel and Saints faced off again in Dubuque on Saturday. This time Chicago would prove the victor, winning 7-2. Farrell got the team off right by opening the game with the first Chicago tally. Late in the second, he assisted on Matt Coronato’s goal. He bookended the game by sinking the game’s final goal.
Sean Farrell (19) is a native of Hopkinton, MA. He sharpened his skills playing with Boston Jr. Bruins and the St. Mark’s School. In 2017, he began playing with the USNTDP team. Farrell was drafted in 2019, as the first pick overall by the Chicago Steel. Sean has committed to play for Harvard University beginning in 2021-22. Sean was drafted in the 2020 NHL Draft in round four, (#124 overall) by the Montréal Canadiens.
