USHL Player of the Week: Daniil Gushchin

This week’s USHL Player of the Week is Daniil Gushchin.
Daniil Gushchin of the Muskegon Lumberjacks is this week’s USHL Player of the Week. This is the second time Daniil has won this honor. The first occurrence was in the second week of the season playing the same Chicago Steel. That week he managed to earn a hat trick versus the Windy City. This week he managed to do the same. On Friday he put up two assists on Muskegon’s 6-3 defeat. On Saturday, he put Muskegon in the win column with an assist in the first, a goal in the second and two more goals in the third. The Lumberjacks won the game 7-5.
Forward, Daniil Gushchin (19) is an import from Yekaterinburg, Russia. He is on loan from the OHL’s Niagara Ice Dogs. He honed his skills with CSKA Moskva. Gushchin began in the USHL with Muskegon in 2018-19. In 2020 he was drafted in the 3rd round  (#76 overall) by the San Jose Sharks.
