This week’s USHL Player of the Week is Adam Fantilli.

The lone hat-trick of the weekend belonged to Adam Fantilli of the Chicago Steel. This weekend featured a triple header between the Steel and the Youngstown Phantoms. Chicago took the first game, 4-0 and the second game, 5-1. In the final matchup on Sunday, the Steel swept the series with another 5-1 victory.

Adam’s performance shined in the second game. Heading into the third period the score remained close at 2-1. Then Fantilli blew the game wide-open where he scored three unanswered goals to secure his hat-trick and the victory for the Chicago Steel.

On Sunday, Fantilli also got the final goal of the game to close out his strong weekend performance.

Adam’s brother (University of Michigan commit), Luca, also plays for Chicago as a Defenseman. In the same game as his brother’s hat-trick, Luca assisted teammate Josh Doan on the opening goal.

Center, Adam Fantilli (16) is a native of Nobleton, Ont. He built his game playing with Toronto Red Wings and the  Toronto Jr. Canadiens of the GTHL U16.  He then crossed the border to skate with the Top Gun/NE Prep 18U and the Kimball Union Academy.  Last March he was tendered by the Chicago Steel. A surprise move after being drafted in the first round (#18 overall) by the Saginaw Spirit in the OHL Priority Selection. It seems that Adam has his sights on playing in the NCAA. Presently, Adam remains uncommitted.
