Eagle Bear Starts Strong for Steamboat

The Steamboat Wranglers are happy to announce the addition of Dalton Eagle Bear to the roster. Dalton is from Lethbridge, Alberta. He grew up playing for the Kainai Chiefs in Standoff, Alberta, starting skating at age two and putting on the pads at age three. He also played Midgets for the Foothills Bisons and the Lethbridge AA Hurricanes. Eagle Bear has played juniors for the Frog Lake T-Birds in Alberta. Now he’s happy at his new hockey home in Steamboat Springs.
“Dalton Eagle Bear is a great addition to our team this year,” says Wrangler Assistant Coach Kenny Simmons. “He’s a taller guy with smooth hands and he sees the ice very well. He knows when to take space given to him and when to move the puck quick and crisp. We look forward to him having a great year here in Steamboat.”
Eagle Bear is also happy to be playing hockey in Northwest Colorado. “I love the mountains and the atmosphere in Steamboat Springs, especially being at the rink every day and doing something that I love to do, in such a great place.” Eagle Bear adds that Steamboat is a great hockey community. “It’s nice to meet new people, and they’re all asking me about my First Nation culture.” Eagle Bear is a member of the Blood Tribe in Alberta.
Eagle Bear jumped right into it, scoring the game winner with only four-tenths of a second left in overtime, helping the Wranglers sweep the series against the Wichita Thunder in October.
