JUNE 7, 2021
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
The Wenatchee Wild last played a meaningful game on March 6, 2020. Now they have a date they can circle on the calendar as the BCHL has released the schedule for all 18 teams in the league.
Wenatchee will open the season at home on Saturday, Oct. 9, 2021 against the Penticton Vees. The Wild will play 26 home games, 26 on the road and 2 games will be played at the BCHL Showcase event. Of the 26 home games, there are 2 Wednesday nights, 2 Thursdays, and eleven each for Fridays and Saturdays.
Wenatchee General Manager Bliss Littler is enthusiastic, saying, “We’re happy with the schedule, and we’re excited to get back to playing BCHL hockey!”
The Wild business office will be announcing the dates of specific game night promotions soon. Returning events will include staples such as Pink In The Rink, Military Appreciation Night, and Guns N Hoses among others.
Saturday, Oct. 9 vs Penticton Vees – HOME OPENER - Wenatchee’s closest geographical rival visits for the Wild season opener. A red-hot rivalry matchup to open the season with a special 6:00 pm faceoff.
Friday, Dec. 31 vs Prince George Spruce Kings – NEW YEARS EVE – Prince George is in town to wrap up the calendar year and help ring in 2022!
Saturday, Jan. 15 vs Cranbrook Bucks – FIRST TIME AT TTC - The expansion Cranbrook Bucks made their BCHL debut in the Pod Season last year, and make their first ever appearance at Town Toyota Center.
The BCHL has realigned, going from a three-division configuration to one that features two 9-team conferences. For Wenatchee, the Interior Division they’ve played in since the 2017-18 season is now the Interior Conference with the addition of the expansion Cranbrook Bucks and the Prince George Spruce Kings. The remaining Mainland and Island Division teams are grouped together in the Coastal Conference. Some cross-conference matchups will only meet once a year, alternating home and away from year to year.
Players are set to report to Wenatchee for training camp in mid-September.
Season tickets are on sale now in the Wenatchee Wild office. Payment plans are available, call to lock in your seat for the upcoming season.
