This week the Great Western Futures Super Camp USHL Goalie of the Week is Dominic Basse of the Youngstown Phantoms. This week produced several shutouts for USHL goalies. However, it was Basse that faced a staggering 74 shots. Only four of those shots slipped passed him as his Phantoms took down the Madison Capitols 6-4, on Saturday. That game alone accounted for 40 shots against. However it was his game the night before where he took care of business by blocking every one of the 34 shots the Green Bay Gamblers attempted. The victory stands as Dominic’s first shutout of the USHL season.
Dominic Basse’s statistics currently stand at:
W:7, L:3, T:0, SO:1, GAA: 3.12, SV%: 0.903
Dominic Basse (18) is originally from Alexandria, VA. He spent his youth developing his game with Team Maryland and Gonzaga College High. In 2018, he played with Selects Hockey Academy 18U, where his numbers were impressive enough to grab the attention of the NHL’s Chicago Blackhawks. He was drafted in 2019, round 6, #167 overall by Chicago.
