While this time of year provides a bit of a lull for hockey, it’s only a matter of time before things ramp up for the 2019-20 season. Training camps are right around the corner and teams are beginning to release their schedule’s and ticket packages. In addition to these releases come some early season showcase news.
September 13 kicks off the 2019 I-80 Showcase
where the Omaha Lancers will play host at Ralston Arena
. This six-team showcase will include the Lincoln Stars, Tri-City Storm Des Moines Buccaneers, Waterloo Blackhawks, and Sioux Falls Stampede in a three-day event.

4:00 pm - Des Moines vs Tri-City
8:00 pm- Omaha vs Waterloo
Saturday, September 14, 2019
3:00 pm - Sioux Falls vs Des Moines
8:00 pm - Lincoln vs Tri-City
Sunday, September 15, 2019
Noon - Omaha vs Tri-City
4:00pm - Lincoln vs Sioux Falls
These six teams have a quick turnaround as they head to Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania on September 16 for the 2019 Dicks Sporting Goods USHL Fall Classic
. All 16 teams will be in attendance for one of the most attended scouting events of the season. For four days these teams take the ice allowing all NHL teams a glimpse at their potential future stars. The event takes place at the UMPC Lemieux Sports Complex on September 26-29.
