This week the Great Western Futures Super Camp USHL Goalie of the Week is Mitchell Gibson of the Central Illinois Flying Aces. Gibson stopped 37 of the 38 shots he encountered leading the Aces to a 3-1 win against the Capitols on Friday night. His one goal performance was outdone the following night when he posted a shutout making 37 saves against the Muskegon Lumberjacks.

Mitchell Gibson (19) is a product of Phoenixville, PA. His youth hockey was spent refining his craft within the Tier 1 Elite Hockey league and the Atlantic Youth Hockey League. He primarily played for both the Philadelphia Jr. Flyers and Owen J. Roberts High. In 2015-16, Gibson broke into the Juniors and began playing with the Johnstown Tomahawks. Later he would return to the NAHL playing with the Lone Star Brahmas. He would then play 43 games in the NAHL and achieved a 1.59 GAA. Ultimately his play led to him being drafted #124th overall by the Washington Capitals in the 2018 NHL Draft. Mitchell has committed to Harvard University beginning in the 2019-20 season.
